The temple - a predominantly white building that stands out starkingly against the clear blue sky - is set within grove on the basin of the Chi River in the village of Nong Yang, in Maha Chai Chana, Yasothon. Wat Phra Buddha Bat Yasothon - the shrine holding the oldest replica of Buddha’s footprint - is indeed Significant landmark of Yasothon, and a popular cultural attraction. Yasothon is also famous for its skyrockets.

With a history of some 40 years old, this area was formerly known as ‘Pathum Wan Square’ - by virtue of its location in the Pathum Wan district. Known as mailai in Thai , a garland is a typical Thai flower arrangement . Various parts of a flower ,such as petals and leaves , are used to make up garlands of different patterns: circular ,flat ,and oval . Each one is fashioned in accordance with its use ,such as the kind for draping around the wrist or the neck , or the type that is to be used as a souvenir.
